This is a vintage 1962 Trifari wheat brooch, beautifully crafted in textured and polished golden Trifanium. The elegant stalk and flowing leaves capture the naturalistic style Trifari was celebrated for in the early 1960s. This brooch is both a book piece (featured in Julia C. Carroll’s Collecting Costume Jewelry 202, p. 229) and an advertised design, shown in a 1962 “Jewels by Trifari” magazine ad alongside other nature-inspired motifs such as the acorn, palm tree, and shell.
